Plastkretsen organises on a national bases the collection and recycling of used plastic packaging and pallets wrapping on behalf of the producers. In 2007 the operations were assigned to Förpacknings- och Tidningsinsamlingen AB, a company jointly owned by the material companies organising collection and recycling of the different packaging materials.

Plastkretsen AB is jointly owned by fillers, importer, the retail sector and packaging manufacturers. The ownership is as follows:
