Following interest from several French Mayors who are working with local communities to prompt the collection and sorting of plastic bottles, Valorplast became sensitive to the need of fitting this initiative within a wider eco-citizenship awareness programme.

Valorplast has signed a 3-year-partnership with Nicolas Hulot Foundation for Man and Nature.

Together with ADEME (French Agency for the Environment and the Energy), in May 2005 the Foundation launched the "Challenge for the Earth".

Sorting packaging waste for recycling is the first of the ten activities that people can volunteer to do to be part of this Challenge.

Citizens, schools and communities can join the "Challenge for the Earth" and decide the activities they wish to participate in by logging onto the website www.defipourleplanete.org.

Valorplast feel that joining this challenge will help to raise awareness. Support for this project is important, as it will help emphasis the selective sorting of plastic bottles, as well as all the other eco-citizen moves.
